Katrina and the waves...

Another natural disaster with loss of lives, property and dreams. My heart to those perished. People are angry about Bush's administration and I think they have the right to do so (for more see a good article by Giancarlo). I will just post some photo I "borrowed" from boreme.com. I think they do say a lot.

The wrath of nature...

And the "managers" at work!

Even though manipulating pictures could be considered a valid means of expressing dissatisfaction with the slowness of Bush in his actions after Hurricane Katrina, I thing many people would feel angry at this kind of perhaps tasteless sense of humor.

I do agree nevertheless with the feeling that his actions were too slow, in fact slower than what he did when the 9/11 terrorist attacks in NY. Would it be perhaps that in this ocassion there was an impossibility of sending Air Force planes to attack the hurricane??? Well, well....

On the other hand, the pictures of the Katrina storm clouds depicted here were actually taken by storm chaser Mike Hollingshead in southwest Iowa in late spring 2004. You can check more of his amazing pictures here.

Finally, I think that the most perfect humoristic picture that reflects how many of us feel about Bush, is a REAL picture taken from the Sky News broadcast, when they were showing declarations of Bush saying that Katrina was "one of the worst disasters to hit the U.S." (Un)Fortunatelly, they forgot to put quotation marks on his comments... Check the picture here.

I really hope that despite this initial callousness of the Bush administration, New Orleans people receive what it is needed to reconstruct both their city and lives...

That one was funny...."one of the worst disasters to hit the U.S." and it was not on purpose.

Sadly enough, it seems that they still have not learnt from past mistakes stemming from the aftermath of Katrina.....
