Misirlou, (Greek Μισιρλού) you might know from Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" is in fact a very old music piece! It was first performed by the Rembetiko singer Michalis Patrinos in 1927.

Ever since was transformed and performed in various musical genres all over the world including Jazz, Oriental, Hebrew wedding, surfer and rap! Read more about it at the Wikipedia article of Misirlou, or listen to various renditions of it HERE! I'm posting 3 different clips for your enjoyment:

Anna Vissi, famous Greek-Cypriot singer, sings Misirlou at the Athens Olympics.

The Surf Costers, Japanese surfer group, plays Misirlou live.
